Our Local Fiddle Orchestra - A busy year!

Happy New Year to all fiddlers.
It was a particularly hectic term.
At English Heritage Open Day, the CFO gave a concert at St Clements Church. This was followed by fine solo performances. The Mayor, Stephen Chappell attended and was able to experience first hand the benefits of the free lesson scheme which his charity will kindly support from September. The Annette Wootton and Herbert Troller scholars were also able to show off their improvements, and Bournemouth Rotary, one of our ongoing funders, also attended.
In October, the orchestra entertained the Cooperatve Area members event. The cooperative has funded the CFO for the second time. The function room at the Quality Hotel was like a Carry On film scene as waiters tripped over violin cases and music stands.
The Bourne Spring Centre has kindly agreed to some free hires in exchange for fund raising concerts. The first of these took on the Xmas theme, and the audience was inspired to clapping and even dancing to "Cossakaya" from Ukraine. CFO president Maurice Patterson wound up the concert with his usual charm and persuasion.
"No rest for the wicked" ...next day CFO was out again in the Town Centre Arcade, playing in the freezing cold for the Mayor's charity, helped along by supplies of mulled wine and mince pies.
